Amy Andrews, Master of Science student, recently learned that she has been selected for the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Postgraduate Technical Assistant Program in the winter of 2009- 2010. The program is a highly competitive and selective postgraduate internship program. Amy will have the opportunity to spend one year at the FASB becoming highly involved with the accounting standard-setting process and developing an in-depth understanding of the roles played by preparers, auditors and users of financial information.
To qualify for this highly competitive FASB internship, candidates must be nominated by the member school, have an outstanding academic record, and strong oral and written communication skills. Only one applicant per school is considered and only six interns were chosen. "We are thrilled that Amy will be joining us and I truthfully have to say that Amy was an extremely strong candidate" said Ginny Cintron, Director of Human Resources for the Financial Accounting Foundation. Amy has deferred employment with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Detroit in order to participate in the program and will start with the firm the following year.
Congratulations Amy on this wonderful accomplishment and opportunity!
