Broad Networks add alumni contacts in five U.S. cities and Singapore
Broad School alumni in five U.S. cities and Singapore are among the newest "go-to" contacts for alumni who want to participate in networking activities. Network contacts in these new locations act as the alumni liaisons to the Broad School's Alumni Relations office and to the leadership of the MSU alumni regional club.

Hooper balances career, family and community roles - Mark Hooper (BA Accounting '76), co-founder and partner at Andrews Hooper & Pavlik, has practiced public accounting in Michigan for 31 years. For nearly as long, he's maintained volunteer involvement in organizations ranging from the Rotary to the Wharton Center and alumni boards at the Broad School.

Cornelius reveals priceless ingredient of success - When Jim Cornelius (BA Accounting '65, M Financial Administration '67), chairman and CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb, discusses leadership and ethics at the upcoming Sylvan T. Warrington Lecture at the Broad School(Feb. 21 at 4:30pm in N100), he'll be taking a page from the company's mission statement and its pledge "to act on our belief that the priceless ingredient in every product is the honor and integrity of its maker."

Alumni Profile: Steve Pougnet
Pougnet leads Palms Springs' efforts to 'go green' -- Steve Pougnet (BA MLM-Purchasing '85), the recently elected mayor of Palm Springs, Calif., campaigned on a "go green" platform that includes plans to build wind turbines, encourage solar power fields and create incentives for solar energy solutions in new home construction. Downtown parking lots in the city's future will be outfitted with electrical outlets for battery-powered cars.

Ray BonAnno named Regional Entrepreneur of the Year - Ray BonAnno (Executive MBA '83), chairman and CEO of Fleet-Car Lease, Inc., a nationwide car hauling company, has received Ernst & Young's Regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the business services category for the Rocky Mountain Region. He was a candidate for the Ernst & Young national awards program, which was held last month in Palm Springs.

Alumni profile: Keith and Kurt Piwko
Piwko brothers two of top 10 CPA Exam scorers nationally - Twins Keith (BA ’04, MS ’05) and Kurt (BA ’04, MS ’05) Piwko seem to do everything together... They chose the same career field of accounting, went to the Broad School together and completed the Master of Science in Accounting program, and they both went on to work for Plante & Moran. As if that weren’t enough, the Piwkos have now achieved a new high – scoring among the top 10 CPA Exam scorers last year.
