HP's Mike Klaus appointed to Broad School Alumni Board
Mike Klaus (BA '80), vice president and general manager of Consumer and Transportation Industries at Hewlett-Packard, was appointed to the 2010 Broad School Alumni Association Board of Directors in a confirmation vote of the members On October 16, 2009. His term begins January 1, 2010.
At HP, Klaus is responsible for driving the business unit's strategy, growth, and client care in the United States. Klaus determines how to deliver value to retail, consumer and transportation companies through the development and delivery of innovative HP business solutions.
He has a deep expertise in supply chain innovation with a proven track record in leveraging technology to enable profitable business growth for clients. Client leadership includes Kraft, Ahold, P&G, Coca Cola, 7-Eleven, American Airlines and Continental. Most recently, Klaus led the Consumer and Retail Industry teams within the Business Transformation and Outsourcing organization, including Global Manufacturing and Global Consumer and Retail at EDS, now HP. Prior to EDS, Klaus held senior partnership positions at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, and CSC. Before beginning his consulting career, he held operating management positions at Pepsi, FTD, Hormel and Federal Mogul.
Klaus is a published author and frequent industry speaker, having addressed audiences such as the Council of Logistics Management, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, the Food Marketing Institute, and the Broad School's Broad Executive Forum of Detroit in 2008 and 2009.
