Financial Times (February 2, 2006) – “The perils of blind faith in new systems”/The Accountancy Column – Extensive coverage of Accounting and Information Systems Professor Joan Luft’s address to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in London. According to Luft, the accounting profession’s task is to help their leadership assess whether management accounting innovations have “provided the basis for productive partnerships, between accountants and managers, or whether they are merely fads.” She spoke as the 2006 CIMA visiting professor first at CIMA’s global headquarters and then to senior corporate accountants and accounting academics. Forbes (January 6, 2006) – “The Complete Picture inspiration center targets ‘Jennifer’ – the Gen-X mom”; Story quotes Glenn Omura, associate professor in Marketing and Supply Chain Management, about plans to market to Gen-X moms at the PMA International Convention and Trade Show.

Harvard Business Review Supply Chain Strategy (February 2006) – “Four Steps to Making RFID Work for You”; Ken Boyer, associate professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, co-authored a ‘how-to’ article for practitioners based on his research.

The New York Times (May 17, 2006) – “Professor Gets Accounting Board Seat”; Tom Linsmeier, Russell E. Palmer Endowed Professor and chair of the Accounting and Information Systems department, has been appointed to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

US News & World Report (March 17, 2006) – “What’s bad for GM isn’t bad for the Dow”; Professor of Management emeritus Eugene Jennings was quoted about the state of investor relations at GM.

USA Today (August 17, 2005) – “Companies give front-line employees more power”; Story quotes Bonnie Knutson, professor in The School of Hospitality Business, about compensating disgruntled customers.

USA Today (Feb. 26, 2006) – “Photo marketers hope to inspire seller innovation”; Associate Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management Glenn Omura is featured in this article about new ideas presented by Photo Marketing Association International (PMAI), an organization which Omura serves as a consultant.
