Celebrate your school’s milestones and continue your commitment to our future.
As Michigan State University celebrates its 150th anniversary with special activities throughout 2005, it is a great time to reflect on our history. About 60 years ago, the business school became an easily identified unit within the university. Forty years ago, we began to offer one of the world’s first executive MBA programs and, in June of this year, more than 2,000 alumni of that program will have the opportunity to celebrate that silver milestone.
It was only about a dozen years ago that we became known as the Broad School, when Eli Broad generously pledged his gift for the college. At that time, the Broad School began to invest in the Full-Time MBA Program, a strategic move that would quickly propel us into a high-profile position among national and international business schools.
Throughout our history, the college has been known for engaging our students in leadingedge business practices and attracting top research faculty to continuously fuel that learning with new ideas. For decades, you and your classmates have built on this reputation for excellence by succeeding in leadership roles throughout the business community, bringing new Broad School graduates into your organizations and recommending the college to your business associates.
Your commitment to the college and university – through dedication of your talent, time, and financial resources – helps insure that the Broad School is an even better place for today’s students to receive a business education. As we look forward to providing relevant business education for the 21st century, we recognize the importance of fostering stronger connections among our alumni and stronger commitments of alumni to the school.
With your continued support, the Broad School will continue to excel in the education and development of business leaders and in the creation and dissemination of knowledge for a long time to come. Happy 150th!
