Already leading in the number of students participating in MSU Study Abroad programs, the Broad School and The School of Hospitality Business will launch an overseas study program in China this summer in conjunction with MSU’s International Studies and Programs.

Courses will be a combination of instructor-led lectures, field trips and discussion with regional experts. The program will be jointly conducted and coordinated by three faculty members of The School of Hospitality Business, in association with faculty of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Macau.

Bob Burns (BA Hospitality Business ’58), founder of the worldwide Regent hotel chain (pictured at center) helped develop the program. He is pictured at the Intercontinental Hotel, Hong Kong, China (formerly The Regent) with Ron Cichy (BA Hotel and Restaurant Management ’72, MBA Hospitality Business ’77), director of The School of Hospitality Business (at left) and Michael Mazzeo, associate dean for Undergraduate Programs and Finance.
