U.S. News ranks Broad MBA Program #29; Supply Chain ranked #2

MBA Community Honors Program names Cosper and Anderson for 2004 award
Broad School alumni and active volunteers Dave Cosper, BA '77 Finance, MBA ' 78 Finance; and Lisa D. Anderson, MBA '99 received recognition, April 2, for their support of MBA placement and career-related projects, and for their contributions as ambassadors for the Broad School in their community and workplace. The awards were given in two categories: Distinguished Alumnus (Cosper) and Distinguished Young Alumnus (Anderson).

Cosper is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ford Motor Credit Company. Anderson has recently assumed human resource responsibilities for a Ford Motor Company plant, based in St. Louis, Mo.

The Community Honors award program was instituted in 2002 to celebrate the accomplishments of the Broad MBA community: staff, faculty, alumni and students. Alumni recipients in 2002 and 2003, respectively, were Keith MacDonald, MBA '96 Finance; and John Maguire, BA '87, MBA '96 Finance.

Board member nominations due May 25
The Nominations Committee of the Broad Alumni Association will accept names in nomination for open seats on the 2005 board of directors. Nomination forms including criteria for membership are available by email from the Alumni Relations Office; by phone: (517)432-7442. Nominations should be submitted to the Broad Alumni Relations Office no later than May 25, 2004.

Alumni recognition program seeks nominees
Whether a young business person on the rise…an influential leader making his or her mark …or respected business leader with many career achievements to celebrate, the Broad Alumni Association's annual alumni awards program seeks nominations for the 2004 Young Alumni Achievement Award, Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award and the Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award from alumni, faculty and staff.

The nominating period for this year's awards is April 15 through June 1. Awards will be presented Homecoming Weekend, October 15-16. Nominating criteria and a listing of past honorees are available at Broad Alumni Leaders.

Beta Gamma Sigma inducts 14 alumni, 41 undergraduate students
April 13 marked the annual spring induction ceremony for business students and alumni into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society of the ASCSB accredited business programs.

Membership in BGS is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by the International Association for Management Education - Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Alumni inductees were: Alister J. J. Aranha, BA '03; Randal Beattie, MBA '03; Timothy Behmlander, MBA '03; Michael Buchalski, BA '03; Shawn Ferrell, MBA '03; Guy Gramzow, BA '03; Richard Isaacs, MBA '03; Elizabeth Pennell, BA '04; Sara Anne Robinson, BA '03; Rashad Simmons, BA '03; Tamara Smith, MBA '03; Mark Sullivan, MBA '03; Bradley Thomas, MBA '03; and Michael Uhl, MBA '03.

Ten alumni were also honored for their perfect 4.0 performance. They are: Randal Beattie, MBA '03; Clifford Bracey, BA Accounting '03; Bradford Clancy, MBA '03; Trevor Craig, BA '03 Supply Chain Management; Raymond Ernst, Jr., MBA '03; Shawn Ferrell, MBA '03; Brent Franey, BA '03 Accounting; Gretchen Hoffman, MS '03 Accounting; Mark Sullivan, MBA '03; and Jesse Ultz, BA '03 Finance.

May 1, 2004, is the application deadline for the Executive MBA Class of 2006, which begins its program in August 2004. June 1 is the next deadline for applications to the Broad Full-Time MBA program. Contact Esmeralda Cardenal, admissions director for more information, or visit the FT-MBA website.

Special note: April 1, 2004, was the application deadline for the Weekend MBA. Applicants may be considered after April 1 on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the program office at (800) 746-6781. The Weekend MBA Class of 2005 begins their program on Friday, July 9, 2004
