MSU's student-volunteer program honored with presidential award
Michigan State University's student-volunteer program - which has done everything from help rebuild Katrina-ravaged New Orleans to tutor generations of school children - has won a prestigious federal award. The University was presented recently with the 2008 Presidential Award for General Community Service, becoming one of only 18 colleges and universities - and the first in Michigan - to win a presidential award since it was launched in 2006. Broad alumnus headlining MSUSAF networking event
MSU alumni were invited to attend an on-campus networking luncheon hosted by the Student Alumni Foundation meant to give current students an opportunity to network with alumni while sharpening their skills. The Broad School is very involved in the event - Lansing area entrepreneur Bob Fish (BA Hotel & Restaurant Management '88), CEO and co-founder of Biggby Coffee, is the keynote, and the Broad School Alumni Association Board of Directors sponsored 10 student registrations.
