Alumni help win MBA Food fight

With tremendous help from Broad School and MSU alumni, students in the Full-Time MBA program once again won the National MBA Food Fight, collecting 218,493 pounds of food and $15,740 in cash donations to benefit Lansing's American Red Cross Food Bank.

Disasters and supply chain continuity

Assistant Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management George Zsidisin, Associate Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management Gary Ragatz and Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management Steven Melnyk recently completed research, funded by AT&T, that examines the continuity of the supply chain during times of disruption or crisis.

(MBA '88) was recently named president of Mexican operations for Lear Corp.

David Choi
(MBA '82) recently joined MetroCorp Bancshares Inc. as chief financial officer.

James Distelrath
(BA '96) was recently named vice president and corporate controller at Clarkston State Bank.

Max Goodwin
(BA '29), retired investment broker with A.G. Edwards and Sons Inc., was one of three grand marshals for the 2004 MSU Homecoming Parade.

Paul Hernacki
(BA '87) recently joined Definition 6 as Senior Director of IT Solutions.

Kevin Kelly
(BA '79), managing director of the Michigan State Medical Society, recently received a 2004 Distinguished Alumni Award from Michigan State University at its annual awards ceremony.

Tom Notarainni
(BA '63; MA '64), a former Exxon executive and member of the Broad Alumni Board of Directors, posthumously received an Alumni Service Award from Michigan State University at its annual awards ceremony.

Randall Pittman
(MBA '78), chairperson and CEO of Chatham Capital Corp. and Forest Health Services Corp., and his wife, Mary, recently received a Philanthropist Award from Michigan State University at its annual awards ceremony.

Mitsuaki Shimaguchi
(MBA '77), professor of marketing at Keio University's Graduate School of Business in Japan, recently received a 2004 Distinguished Alumni Award from Michigan State University at its annual awards ceremony.

Mary VanKoevering
(MBA '87) was recently appointed vice president and CFO for CrossMedia Services, Inc.
