Reunions and tailgates on the
Broad calendar for Fall 2003

The annual Broad Alumni Homecoming Tailgate is set for Saturday, October 4. All business alumni are invited to be a part of homecoming activities at this annual pre-game event. Visit the Broad Alumni website for updates on Broad homecoming activities and availability of online registration.

Reunion Scheduled for MBA Class of 1997: A reunion for the MBA class of 1997 will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2003 in conjunction with the MSU vs. Michigan football game. For more information, see the summer issue of the Broad MBA alumni newsletter .

Broad Quality Improvement
winners announced

The Lewis Quality Award, established by the Broad Alumni Association Board of Directors in 1995, is an annual recognition of the best quality improvement projects or activities in the Broad School. Four awards, honoring an undergraduate student, a graduate student, a member of the faculty, and a member of the staff, are made each year.

For 2003, the undergraduate award was given to the Finance Association for their outstanding service to their membership. Wayne Carlson (MBA ’03) received the graduate student award for his work on MBA case competitions. The staff award was given to Lynne Zelenski for her efforts in recruiting accounting majors. Finally, there was a tie for the faculty award: Glenn Omura was honored for his work in support of the MBA program, and Shawnee Vickery and Dave Closs were recognized for the initiation of two new masters program, the Masters in Manufacturing and Innovation and the Masters in Logistics.

Alumni directory update project
to launch this month

We are pleased to announce the publication of the 2004 Eli Broad College of Business and Eli Broad Graduate School of Management Alumni Directory. When published this directory will be a valuable tool to help you renew and re-establish connections with former classmates and friends.
