The Broad Executive Forum of Detroit

Forty-three years and going strong
Even before the school was called the Eli Broad College of Business, a committee of MSU alumni brought major speakers and timely topics to interested business executives from all over Michigan for the Detroit Management Conference. In 2002, the event was renamed the Broad Executive Forum, and the tradition continues.
Held at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy, this year marks the 43rd year for the event. On October 28, 2008, Rick Wagoner, chairman and CEO of General Motors Corporation will talk about the automaker's strategies for emerging markets and the company's drive for advanced propulsion technologies. Forum attendees, who pack the house each year, come from all business segments of the region to hear executives for Fortune 500 companies and for their own business development opportunities. Past speakers include Starbucks Senior Vice President and President of Global Consumer Products Gerry Lopez (2007 event) Compuware-Covisint President and COO Bob Paul (2006 event), EDS Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Client Solutions and Chairman of EDS offshoot ExcellerateHRO Steve Schuckenbrock (2005 event), Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (2004 event), GM Vice Chairman of Product Development Robert Lutz (2003 event), President and CEO of Cisco Systems John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Dell Computers Michael Dell and Chairman and CEO of SunAmerica Inc. Eli Broad.
Anyone interested in learning more about current business topics is invited to attend the day's events, which includes two unique professor-and-practitioner workshops, with a reception, dinner and a keynote address immediately following dinner. On-line registration for this year's event will be available in August 2008.
