CLODE Research Project offers promise for new executive-level learning
CLODE research faculty are working on a new simulation training platform to help executives and students learn the Digital Enterprise intricacies of international supply chain management. David Closs, the John H. McConnell Chaired Professor of Business Administration and Senior Research Faculty for the Center for Leadership of the Digital Enterprise, has developed a computerized logistics simulation known as the Supply Chain Operations Decision Environment (SCODE).
Teams of executives and/or students participating in the SCODE simulation receive summary data which provides details of the type of digital enterprise market against which they will be competing. The teams decide how to set up their supply chains by making decisions including outsourcing, plant capacity, marketing, distribution center capacity and international operations.
SCODE provides an experience for executives and students to manage and lead a digital enterprise. The SCODE experience answers the key question of "How should digital enterprise executives develop the mindset and management processes to effectively lead digital enterprises, in view of their complexities and turbulence?"
