
Membership
The Marketing Mix is interested in your involvement! We are consistently active in pursuing marketing education and initiating our own marketing consulting projects with real-world businesses. By combining each member’s previous experience with the expertise we pick up from professionals and colleagues, any member can become qualified to provide consultation.
Take a look at some of our past work to get an idea of projects our members have been interested in previously. Whether businesses are contacting us or we are initiating projects with them, the sky is the limit on the type of projects we can do. As a hands-on organization, we thrive on the idea that if you want to learn something, there's no time like the present to become active in doing so.
Becoming a Member
The Marketing Mix uses ANGEL (http://www.angel.msu.edu) to manage our membership activities. To gain access, please e-mail us at msumix@msu.edu to request access. The Vice President of Social Relations will follow up with you confirming your access to the website. Once signed in to ANGEL, you will see a link to The Marketing Mix under your groups, on the lower-left part of the page. Under the Projects tab you can download the Membership Form, fill it out electronically, and use the link to the Membership Form Drop Box on the Projects page to submit your completed form.
All Michigan State University majors are welcome to join. Although we most often provide marketing consulting services to our clients, we also see a need for diversity of thought. A mix of majors in our organization allows us to deliver beyond our client’s expectations. Are you in Finance or Accounting? Get involved with a client in the financial industry or keep our members on track with budgeting. Advertising? Develop a campaign! No Pref? Get involved with a project that might help you decide!
Membership Fee
First Semester: $25 (Includes T-shirt)
Returning Member: $15 per semester
Please bring a check made out to The Marketing Mix to our next membership meeting.
Executive Board
The Marketing Mix is always seeking dedicated members to fill Executive Board roles for the following year. Positions for Fall 2009 include: President, Vice President, Social Coordinator, Treasurer, Communications Director, Project Liaison, and Professional Relations Manager.

Join a Project Team
Potential clients will request services via our online form by the deadline and remain in contact with an Executive Board member until project teams are determined. The semester kick-off meeting will be utilized to inform members of the available semester projects with brief descriptions.
To join a project team, use the online form on our ANGEL group page to submit your project choices and other requested information. Project teams will be announced via e-mail.
The level of commitment will vary by project, but it is expected by The Marketing Mix, its members and clients that the necessary commitment will be met to complete project objectives within one semester. General Membership Meetings generally occur every other Wednesday, allotting time every other week for members to use our reserved room for team meetings.
Project Leads
Interested in gaining leadership and project management experience? Returning members who have successfully completed at least one prior project are encouraged to apply for a Project Lead position. Project Leads are responsible for managing a team of four to seven team members, serving as the main point of contact for the client, and initiating and enforcing a timeline of actionable objectives to be completed throughout the semester.
Please join us at our general membership meetings for additional information regarding the application process. Selected candidates will also be responsible for attending three Project Lead Meetings per semester with the Project Liaision.
