NABA Conference: Minneapolis- 2005
One of the major goals of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) is to identify opportunities for minority students. NABA achieves this goal through its annual regional conferences. The NABA Central Region Student Conference was held in Minneapolis, MN on October 2005. The central region conference allows students to interact with other students from over 30 colleges and universities.
The primary goal of the conference is to promote job opportunities, however, there are other benefits associated with students attendance. The conference offered seminars and workshops designed to enhance students communication and interpersonal skills and provide tools that will allow for a smooth transition to the professional environment.
National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has provided competitive scholarships to deserving and successful college students to assist in furthering their education. During the conference three NABA members at Michigan State University chapter were recipients of the regional conference scholarship.
