Under the leadership of the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University, The James B. Henry Center for Executive Development provides an unparalleled environment for executive education and corporate learning that rivals the best in the world. The Center opened it's doors in October 2001 thanks to a generous gift from Broad School alumnus Jim Cornelius, and it was named after former MSU business school dean and professor emeritus James Henry. It was his dream to make Michigan State University a place where ideas, talent and experience come together to energize careers, companies, industries and global economies. Many Broad School alumni and friends donated time and treasure to make Dean Henry's dream come true.
In order to create an executive style meeting place where business and pleasure coexist, a partnership was forged between the University Club, Forest Akers West Golf Course, Candlewood Suites and the Executive Development Center forming the Henry Center Complex at Michigan State University.
