Scholarships
How and when can I apply for a scholarship for the Level I exam?
Students must be in the final year of their bachelor degree program to sit for the first exam.
MSU CFA Scholarships
As a CFA program partner, the finance department has 5 scholarships for the Level One Exam. The scholarship recipients are competitively selected based on a student's academic performance, commitment to hard work, and desire to embark on the CFA certification process.
Any student seeking a scholarship should submit the following materials by September 20th to 315 Eppley:
- A completed CFA scholarship application form - please include credit information to process the application fee.
- A current resume.
- A list of accounting, economics and finance classes taken and grades in each class. Also, include scheduled classes in those areas for the 2009-10 academic year.
- A brief personal statement.
Western Michigan and Detroit CFA Society Scholarships
Both area societies have scholarships available for students - and the scholarships are for any level of the CFA exams (MSU scholarships can only be used for the level 1 exam).
In the past, both societies have extended scholarships to MSU students and we expect that to continue for the 2009-10 exams.
Please follow the same application procedures and deadlines listed above for the MSU scholarships. Students not receiving a MSU CFA Scholarship will be forwarded to the Western, MI Chapter for scholarship consideration. The Detroit Society has a separate application process - see below.
