2010 CFA Scholarships announced

2010 CFA scholarships were recently announced. Students were competing for one of five scholarships that will cover their expenses to take the CFA exam next June.

Research Interests

  • Strategic valuation issues in corporate finance; alternative valuation models applied to the rapidly less-regulated utility industry; real options models to assist in the valuation of business unit strategies and their impact on shareholder valuation.

Bio(s)

  • Richard R. Simonds joined MSU faculty in 1974. He has been a professor of Finance at the Broad School since 1985. He has a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

    In addition to teaching MBA courses in corporate finance, he has been a reviewer for several academic journals and published over 25 articles. He has served as a consultant to both well known companies and county and state governments and participates extensively in executive education.
