Research Interests
- Strategic valuation issues in corporate finance; alternative valuation models applied to the rapidly less-regulated utility industry; real options models to assist in the valuation of business unit strategies and their impact on shareholder valuation.
Bio(s)
- Richard R. Simonds joined MSU faculty in 1974. He has been a professor of Finance at the Broad School since 1985. He has a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
In addition to teaching MBA courses in corporate finance, he has been a reviewer for several academic journals and published over 25 articles. He has served as a consultant to both well known companies and county and state governments and participates extensively in executive education.
