FMI
In recent years many top Broad School undergraduate finance and accounting majors have joined leading financial markets firms in full-time and internship positions. Included in this group of companies are Banc of America Securities, Bear Stearns, BMO Capital Markets, Citigroup, General Electric, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.
To further advance the interests of students seeking such careers, the Broad School launched a Financial Markets Institute (FMI) in April 2006. The institute prepares candidates for working in financial markets by insuring they complete the most suitable set of courses in alignment with their interests, helping them build their professional networks, and assisting them with career-skills development.
The institute provides employers with the confidence that FMI student scholars are prepared with the technical and soft skills necessary to make immediate contributions to their firms. The institute also makes it easy for employers to hire students by offering the convenience of one-stop shopping.
