| In thanks for Dean Robert Duncan's support of the Financial Markets Institute, on May 1 Institute scholars presented him with a plaque naming him a lifetime honorary board member. Scholars Harry Wang, Kendra Webster, Jeff Holycross, and Jeff Smith thanked Dean Duncan for the opportunities he has made available for them through FMI. Duncan steps down as dean of the Broad School on June 30, 2008. He will remain on the faculty in the Department of Management. full story |

| The financial headlines in any news publication indicate increased attention on the Asian markets. In fact, a recent issue of The Economist discussed the decoupling of the once realized correlation between Asia and the west, as the east continues to make significant positive strides while the west remains fairly stagnant. Joshua Van Dyke, 2003 MSU Broad alum and senior corporate finance analyst for Deutsche Bank in Southeast Asia, has experienced first hand the growth of Asia’s markets since a student studying finance at The Eli Broad College of Business. full story |
