Josh Pierce:
Josh Pierce graduated with a doctoral degree in finance from Michigan State in the Spring of 2007. He is currently an assistant professor of finance in the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Pierce's research is focused on the role of financial constraints in the investment behavior of firms. While he only recently finished his degree, his research collaborations with current MSU faculty have already led to three publications. He is teaching corporate finance and real estate at the Moore School.
Nadia Vozlioublennaia:
Nadia Vozlioublennaia completed the doctoral degree in finance in the Summer of 2007 and she recently joined the faculty at Texas Tech University as an assistant professor. Her research is focused in the area of theoretical and empirical investments. In particular, she is trying to uncover the determinants of idiosyncratic volatility in stock returns. She is teaching in the investments area at Texas Tech.
Gwinyai Utete:
Gwinyai Utete completed his doctoral degree in finance in the Summer of 2007. He recently began his academic career as an assistant professor at Auburn University. Dr. Utete's research considers the role of large blockholders in the performance of firms. His research has important implications for understanding why firms adopt certain ownership structures. He will be teaching in the corporate finance and investments areas at Auburn University.
Hyun-Seung Na:
Hyun-Seung Na completed the doctoral degree in finance in the Summer of 2007 and he recently joined the faculty at UC Riverside. Dr. Na's research is in the area of corporate restructuring and corporate governance. His dissertation research considers the role of bank lenders in assisting firms in the face of extreme economic shocks. This work has important implications for understanding why firms often choose to have a close relationship with a single lender. Dr. Na will be teaching corporate finance at UC Riverside.
Iordanis Karagiannidis:
Iordanis Karagiannidis completed his doctoral degree in finance at MSU in the Summer of 2007. He is currently a visiting assistant professor of finance here at the Broad School.
Dr. Karagiannidis's research is in the area of mutual fund management. His research demonstrates that the structure of a mutual fund's management team can have a substantial effect on the fund's behavior and performance. Dr. Karagiannidis has extensive experience in financial modeling and he is currently serving as the academic director of the financial analysis laboratory at Michigan State.
