The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean
The Broad School’s primary mission is to create and disseminate cutting-edge knowledge to produce global leaders who excel at making strategic change and who also have outstanding executional skills. These leaders play an essential role in driving economic development regionally, nationally and internationally and increase the visibility and stature of the Broad School.
Over the last several years, the Broad School has been involved in a number of strategic planning efforts to support this mission, including the development of a strategy map. The Broad School strategy map, shown on the facing page, gives all of us (faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, recruiters, potential students, university officials) an unambiguous roadmap for our aspirations.
The key drivers of our mission are to:
- enhance faculty research opportunities/productivity;
- enhance our PhD Program;
- develop strategies to enhance our MBA/MS Programs;
- deliver on enhancing undergraduate education, and
- develop new programs in entrepreneurship/new venture capital/private equity.
We have developed and are implementing action plans to accomplish these key objectives, and we have detailed balanced scorecards for the Broad School and for each academic department/unit to measure our progress in attaining these goals.
