Odd uses
In rare circumstances, specialty item vendors have difficulty using the logo because of the shape or size of the item that they are applying the logo to. For example, pencils and pens or very small items do not have enough surface area to apply the Broad School logo properly. In these cases:
- Do not cut the logo apart to fit it on an item.
- Do not reduce the logo to smaller than 1/2" square.
- Do not try to imitate the "Broad" typeface in words.
The best solution is often to use a simple block typeface (specialty item vendors may suggest fonts such as Arial, Univers, Helvetica or some other common sans serif font) to write out the full the name of the school:
ELI BROAD COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
or
ELI BROAD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
If you have enough space, you may wish to add "MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY" in the same simple block lettering. Never use the words "Michigan State University" alone; always use the full name of the Broad School first as shown above.
