Christine Keyes, a secretary in the Undergraduate Academic Services office, recently received the Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Award, which is awarded only to six University support staff members annually.
Keyes was selected to receive this award based on her job performance, supportive attitude, and contributions that promote efficiency and effectiveness within the college. She was nominated for the award by Undergraduate Academic Services Adviser Shannon Brecheisen.
"Chris is a quiet innovator," says Brecheisen. "Humble and dedicated, she is significant to the daily functioning of Undergraduate Academic Services for the College of Business. To acknowledge her in this manner would not only recognize her for a job well done, but uphold the high standards of the award."
Keyes has been with the University for 22 years and with the College of Business since 2000. "I feel very humbled yet excited. Never in a million years did I ever think I would have garnered such an award when there are so many others who deserve it just as much," she says.
"(Chris) consistently demonstrates care, enthusiasm and excellence; she makes every effort to genuinely connect with everyone she encounters," says Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education and Academic Services Eileen Wilson. "If you've met Chris once, you never forget her."
