Broad School Professor of Management and Valade Research Scholar Frederick Morgeson has been named editor of Personnel Psychology, one of the leading journals in human resource research.
Morgeson was previously an associate editor for Personnel Psychology, and has been published in many top journals. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation, and he is on the editorial committee for the Annual Review of Psychology. In addition, he is a member of the Academy of Management’s HR Division executive committee, and he has served on the editorial boards of various other journals.
His research focuses on four distinct areas: leadership, particularly with respect to the role of leadership in self-managing teams and the nature of the relationship between leaders and followers; fundamental questions about the nature of work, which includes how work is structured and how people perceive their work; the effectiveness and consequences of different selection techniques; and issues of theory development. He received his PhD from Purdue University.
