Help Broad MBAs fight hunger… and other MBA programs

The 14th Annual MBA Food Fight kicks off this week, and there’s more at stake than just pride this year.
The Broad MBA program has won the Food Fight eight years in a row, and this annual competition between several elite MBA programs to collect the most food and funds for the Feeding America Food Bank Network has become a brag point for MSU.
It’s also a brag point for the Mid-Michigan Food Bank (MMFB), the local recipient of the Broad School’s efforts. "We definitely plan for this money each year, and the community counts on it, now more than ever before," says Dave Karr, Director of the MMFB. "We’ve seen a 30 percent increase in people served, and every dollar raised in this effort will buy seven pounds of food for our families in crisis."
Last year, the generosity of the Lansing community and MSU alumni enabled Broad MBAs to raise the equivalent of 90,440 pounds of food for the MMFB – roughly $20,000. Corporate contributions typically make up the bulk of donations, and alumni help is invaluable in making connections with local companies.
The Broad MBA Association can accept donations through Friday, Nov. 6, by check or online donation. Checks should be made payable to the "Mid-Michigan Food Bank" and mailed to the Broad MBA Association, Michigan State University, 215 Eppley Center, East Lansing, MI 48824. To give online, please visit http://broad.msu.edu/mba/fulltime/orgs/mbaa/services/foodfight. All donations are tax deductible.
"Community support is essential to this year’s food drive and the impact that it can make," says Ankur Srivastava, Broad MBA Association vice president. "Together we can demonstrate what it means to be a Spartan by reaching out and supporting this worthy cause."
