Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate specialization in Information Technology Management is a three-college collaboration, which includes the Eli Broad College of Business, the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering (Computer Science Department). Under this program, students remain in their major and college, developing core competencies in their primary area of study. At the same time, the ITM specialization allows them to develop technical acumen and gives them access to technology-related courses in other colleges that they might not otherwise have.
The Broad School portion of this specialization provides a framework for understanding technology infrastructure and architecture, systems development methodologies, and strategic information systems planning from the perspective of corporations, business units or individual enterprises (BUS 311). The Communication Arts portion focuses on telecommunications technology (see TC 201) and the Engineering portion focuses on informatics (see CSE 240)
ITM444 ("Information Technology Projects") is the capstone course for the specialization in Information Technology Management. In this course, MSU seniors work together in cross-functional teams to deliver a real-world project. For the students, it is a chance to try out their skills on a real project, with real clients. For clients, it is an opportunity to get extra help with an information systems problem or project.
