Sophomore Year
Assess yourself:
- Continue to assess your personal interests, needs, and skills.
- Continue your self-directed exploration of specific occupations.
Use your Resources:
- Attend the "Choosing a Major" workshop.
- Meet with a Lear Center advisor to discuss your self assessment results.
- Revise your resume.
- Make contact with professionals in your chosen field and conduct an informational interview.
- Participate in a variety of career development workshops offered by the Lear Center.
Build your Network:
- Continue to meet as many people as possible including faculty and staff members.
- Coordinate an opportunity to "job shadow" a professional in your chosen field.
Gain Valuable Experience:
- Attempt to obtain a summer internship position and/or a job related to your major.
Get Involved:
- Join and participate in student organizations directly related to your major.
- Seek out leadership positions in student organizations.
- Be a Career Gallery Ambassador
