Broad Management faculty continue to excel in scholarship
Broad Management faculty are # 1 in Big Ten, # 2 in the country, in research productivity 2003-2006.
In a joint study by Texas A&M University and the University of Florida, the research productivity of management departments in the top management journals was analyzed for the period 2003 through 2006. Michigan State placed second in the country. We were also the most productive department in the Big Ten.
The universities were chosen for analysis based on whether they are members of the Association of American Universities (AAU). The AAU represents the 62 most prominent research universities in North America.
Broad Management Faculty: 25 Years of Excellence
A recent publication in the Journal of Management evaluated scholarly impact in the field of management over the last 25 years. The article reports:
“only a small number of schools during the last 25 years have truly excelled in terms of both producing students who become highly cited authors and having current faculty members who also have achieved this status. For example only eight institutions (Harvard, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, MIT, Pennsylvania, and Stanford) were ranked in the top 10 on producing highly cited authors and having highly cited faculty on their current faculty.” (p. 710).
