Testimonials
"Since graduating from Michigan State University I have been working for Ford Motor Company, and I can definitely say the MS-M&EM program has prepared me to handle all aspects of my job. My career goal is to be a manufacturing leader with a focus on enhancing product characteristics, driving process improvements and working with customers to market and sell product benefits, and I've been able to blend all that I've learned through the M&EM program while at Ford.
Positions I have held at Ford include working closely with suppliers to finalize engineering part designs for the Mustang program as a Design and Release Engineer; developing assembly tooling and facility strategies for the all-new F-150 as a Process Engineer; managing product, people and process as a Production Supervisor; and driving the development of a vehicle package that targeted customer needs as a Marketing Brand Analyst. This innovative and challenging degree program has given me a competitive advantage by providing the knowledge of engineering, business and management principles that I needed to hold all of these challenging positions."
"While enrolled in the MS-M&EM program, I was guided to co-op and found employment with General Motors. It became apparent that working in the industry paralleled what I was studying in the classroom. The combination of the engineering degree and the business degree gave me both the education and the confidence to enter the competitive automotive industry.
After graduation I began working full time at General Motors, and I have moved through positions in design engineering, statistical quality control, validation, purchasing and manufacturing in locations ranging from the Milford Proving Grounds to assembly plants as far away as Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. I'm currently back in Michigan designing tools and assembly processes for the introduction of a new car program at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Having both an engineering and a business educational background has afforded me plenty of opportunities here at GM, and I am eager to see what happens next."
