Broad School grads ready to turn their tassels

Joseph Sandor

1,001 undergraduates…
268 MBA/Masters of Science students…
13 Doctoral students…
will face the world with new
business degrees this summer

Graduating with a degree from a nationally-ranked business school is an honor in itself, but a full third of this year’s senior class took that “honor” up a notch. More than 33 percent of the 1,001 Broad School undergraduates who are turning their tassels on Saturday, May 6, are graduating with honors, finishing with an overall GPA of 3.5 or greater.

“Last year we had a record number of honors graduates, but this year’s group decided to take it a step further and break that record,” said Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs Mike Mazzeo. “I have no doubt these over-achievers are ready to tackle the business world head-on.”

Of the 1,001 undergraduate students who have completed their business requirements this spring/summer, 178 will receive a degree in Accounting, 211 will receive a degree in Finance, 45 will receive a degree in General Business Administration – Pre-Law, 71 will receive a degree in General Management, 136 will receive a degree in Hospitality Business, 21 will receive a degree in Human Resource Management, 172 will receive a degree in Marketing and 167 will receive a degree in Supply Chain Management.

On Friday, May 6, 281 Broad School students will receive their graduate-level degrees: 13 Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration graduates, 106 Full-Time MBA graduates, 44 Executive MBA graduates, two Master of Science in Hospitality Business graduates, three Master of Science in Operations and Engineering Management graduates and 113 Master of Science in Professional Accounting graduates.

“It’s great to know that our faculty and staff helped so many young people become the leaders of tomorrow,” said Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean Robert Duncan. “We are proud to add these students to the ranks of our alumni.”
