Cichy receives Marshall Award

Director of The School of Hospitality Business Ronald F. Cichy, CHA, CHE, CFBE, recently received the Anthony G. Marshall Award, presented by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. The award recognizes an individual who has made significant long-term contributions to the hospitality industry in educating future leaders.

Cichy, who has been with The School since 1988, has been recognized as one of the 50 most influential scholars in hospitality management, and is a pioneer researcher on the topics of leadership qualities, keys, essentials, and secrets. His work with executives from around the globe has helped them develop as leaders and managers and helped their businesses become high-performance organizations.

He is the author or co-author of several hospitality management textbooks, including Managing Service in Food and Beverage Operations, Managing Beverage Service and Food Safety: Managing the HACCP Process and the upcoming Purchasing for Food Service Operations (all published by the Educational Institute of AH&LA).

Broad's Weekend MBA program expanding to Troy


This fall, in response to student and alumni suggestions, the Weekend MBA program will expand beyond East Lansing, where it has been since 1995, to Troy, at the MSU Management Education Center.
