Yet another group of Broad grads turn their tassels

967 undergraduates…
243 MBA/Masters of Science students…
10 Doctoral students…
face the world with new business degrees this summer

Retired Lear Corp. CEO Ken Way (right) addressed Broad School grads at commencement ceremonies May 8.

As if it weren't impressive enough to graduate with a degree from a top 25 business school, this year's senior class decided to do it with vim and vigor. Nearly 30 percent of the 967 Broad School senior undergraduates who turned their tassels on Saturday, May 9, graduated with honors, finishing with an overall GPA of 3.5 or greater.

"This is the most students we've ever had graduate with honors at one time," said Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs Mike Mazzeo. "I have no doubt that they are ready to tackle the business world head-on."

Of the nearly 1,000 students who are graduating with a business degree this spring/summer, 181 received a degree in Accounting, 190 received a degree in Finance, 46 received a degree in General Business Administration - Pre-Law, 78 received a degree in General Management, 131 received a degree in Hospitality Business, 25 received a degree in Human Resource Management, 154 received a degree in Marketing and 162 received a degree in Supply Chain Management.

On Friday, May 8, 253 Broad School students received their graduate-level degrees: 10 Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration graduates, 108 Full-Time MBA graduates, 59 Executive MBA graduates, three Master of Science in Food Service Management graduates, seven Master of Science in Operations and Engineering Management graduates and 69 Master of Science in Professional Accounting graduates.

"It's thrilling to know that our faculty and staff helped so many young people become the leaders of tomorrow," said Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean Robert Duncan. "We are proud to add these students to the ranks of our alumni."
