The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean

Robert Duncan, the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean of the Eli Broad College of Business, was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). "I am honored and excited about this appointment," said Duncan. "I believe it's significant for our college and for Michigan State University."

Duncan brings years of experience at the Broad School and at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University to the board. He was appointed dean of the Broad School in January 2002, and he teaches strategy implementation and the management of strategic change to undergraduate, MBA and executive program students. At Northwestern, he was associate dean of academic affairs, as well as university provost from 1987-91. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana University and a PhD in organizational behavior from Yale University. Duncan is also currently a member of the Committee on Issues in Management Education and the Accreditation Standards committee of the AACSB.

Its board of directors includes 24 deans and is committed to the AACSB mission to "advance quality management education worldwide through accreditation and thought leadership."

The Eli Broad College of Business received AACSB accreditation for its business programs in 1953.
