Morgeson receives APA award and top management paper award
Associate Professor of Management Frederick P. Morgeson recently received the American Psychological Association (APA) Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology in Applied Psychology, as well as a Best Paper award from the National Academy of Management. The APA Committee on Scientific Awards recognized Morgeson for his contributions to the area of job analysis and design, personnel selection and theory development. His research on job analysis inaccuracy represents the first attempt to systematically describe inaccuracy in job analysis, taking job analysis research in a completely new direction. In addition, Morgeson developed a model that offers guidelines for developing multilevel theories, which has already been cited by scholars in the development and testing of new theories across a diverse set of research topics. Prior to his work, there was little guidance about how to link constructs across levels. His National Academy of Management Best Paper Award is in the Organizational Behavior Division and is titled, "Cognitive and Affective Identification in Organizational Settings." He co-wrote the paper with PhD student Michael D. Johnson. Morgeson earned his PhD at Purdue University in 1998. Click here for past home page stories |
