GM's Lutz, other industry execs to speak on product innovation

Broad Executive Forum

Before General Motors Vice Chairman of Product Development Robert Lutz shares his innovation know-how with Detroit-area business leaders at the 38th annual Broad Executive Forum on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, other industry executives will debate the future of vehicle propulsion in what will be the event's first ever "crossfire" panel discussion.

The "crossfire" panel discussion will be moderated by Jon Pepper, director of integrated communication for Ford and former Detroit News business editor, and will feature:

Jarett Carson, VP of Equity Research, Energy & Power Technology, RBC Capital Markets
Edward Murphy, PhD, General Manager, Downstream Segment, American Petroleum Institute
Scott Staley, PhD, P.E., chief engineer, Fuel Cell System Engineering and Vehicle Programs, Ford Research & Advanced Engineering
Robert Stempel, chairman, ECD Ovonics
Filippo Zingariello, VP, Drive-by-Wire Business Unit, SKF Automotive Division

The annual event will once again take place at MSU's Management Education Center in Troy, Mich. The day will start at 1 p.m. with a faculty presentation and discussion, "Innovative Supply Chain Solutions: Strategies for Winning in the New Economy," conducted by The John H. McConnell University Professor of Business Administration Don Bowersox, followed by the panel discussion at 2:15 p.m. Lutz will speak following the reception and dinner. Broad's Weekend MBA program expanding to Troy


This fall, in response to student and alumni suggestions, the Weekend MBA program will expand beyond East Lansing, where it has been since 1995, to Troy, at the MSU Management Education Center.
