Vegas Night		01/29/2010
	Vegas Night is a one night charity gaming casino run by 13 hospitality business students with the help of over 100 hospitality student volunteers. The gaming casino includes: blackjack, roulette, craps, poker, money wheel, and new this year, bingo! We also host a 100-person poker tournament alongside the casino. To sign up for the poker tournament please visit www.msuvegasnight.com/signup. Please join us on Friday, January 29, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Spartan Stadium (Sky Lofts). Admission is $5 which will earn you $3 in chips, proceeds go to The School of Hospitality Business. Proceeds from Vegas Night will be donated to The School of Hospitality Business. more info

Jazz Auction		02/06/2010
	Join us on Saturday, February 6, 2010! Silent Auction begins at 5 p.m. and Live Auction begins at 6 p.m. -- in the Big Ten Rooms at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center. Admission is $10 per person (MSU students are free). Complimentary food and beverage (non-alcoholic). Net proceeds are divided between the student Hospitality Association and The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association to support programs and clubs within both organizations. This year, the Auction is also donating to two local charities: the Junior League of Lansing and the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts and Creativity at Wharton Center. more info

Les Gourmets: Beneath the Mediterranean Sun		03/27/2010
	Les Gourmets is a 7-course formal dinner (tuxedo not required, but jacket definitely recommended), with a champagne and hors d'oeuvres reception. It is unique in that it combines all of the skills and practices taught by our professors into one culminating event. Over 200 students voluntarily participate, under the direction of Professor Allan Sherwin and through the guidance of distinguished faculty members, working in areas such as management, sales, marketing, purchasing, finance, cooking and serving! Guest Chefs from across the Midwest complete the team, resulting in an unforgettable evening for all. Reception doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010; dinner served at 7 p.m. more info

	The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association at Michigan State University will honor outstanding academicians as recipients of its 2010 Lifetime Academic Achievement Award at the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE) Conference in Puerto Rico on Thursday, July 29. The Award is given to alumni whose lifetime careers in the academy have had a lasting and significant impact on hospitality education and those who study and teach it.
