Bio(s)
- Charlie Bokemeier is a professor of practice in accounting at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business. He received his DBA in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1983. Prior to coming to Michigan State in 2000, he was an associate professor at the University of Michigan-Flint and was an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky, where he received several outstanding teaching awards. In 2008 he was chosen the Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher by the accounting students of MSU and received the Accounting Teachiing Excellence Award from the MACPA.
He has been a research consultant for the National Association of State Comptrollers, developing their unified responses to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board’s proposed accounting changes. He continues to have a strong interest in the accounting changes in governmental accounting. He has received an Outstanding Research Paper award from the Association of Women CPA’s for his paper on “An Empirical Examination of Burnout Among Women CPA's". Currently he is the faculty adviser to the Accounting Club, adviser to Honors College students majoring in accounting, and a member of the MACPA Board of Directors
