Curriculum
The MSSCM program can be structured two ways: a 19-month program and an extended 31-month option that allows for additional time to complete the on-line coursework.
Included in both the 19- and 31-month schedules are required on-line classes for students without the necessary business undergraduate business background. These courses (an additional six credits) will be taken in conjunction with the required 36 program credits. Students taking the supplementary six credits will complete the coursework within the same 19- or 31-month time frame.
Finally, three track options are offered. One track is for those who wish to focus on logistics, one for those interested in operations management, and one for those with an interest in procurement. The MSSCM schedule only varies during Module 5, the second summer in-residency, when students must choose between one of the three tracks.
Students in both the 19- and 31-month program attend the same in-residency classes with the exception of Module 5. On-line courses and the field study research project are scheduled differently for the two schedule options. However, all students take the same three* types of courses:
- 12-day in-residence classes at the James B. Henry Center for Executive Development (24 credits)
- E-learning classes (6 credits)
- A field study/research project that involves the application of learning material. The student is required to address a situation at his or her place of employment, or to a research topic of interest in SCM (6 credits)
*Additional required classes for non-business undergraduate degree holders only (6 credits, on-line format)
