If you are accepted into the BROAD Freshman Program, you will live with a select group of other BROAD Freshman Program students in Shaw Hall, in addition to being assigned a roommate who is also in the program. Shaw Hall is conveniently located in the center of campus, next to the Business College Complex.

The BROAD Freshman Program offers LEARNING opportunities

Students participating in the BROAD Freshman Program will have the opportunity to enroll in special reserved sections of high-demand freshman classes, such as writing, arts & humanities, and communication. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional development activities:
BROAD Freshman Seminar- Reserved sections of BUS 101 Developing the Business Leader in You in the fall semester will be required for students participating in the BROAD Freshman Program. This 14 week seminar will allow the students to develop relationships with The Eli Broad College of Business faculty and staff early in their academic career, become aware of resources that will help them succeed at MSU and assist in their academic development. Students will begin to build a foundation of basic skills and knowledge for their future success.
BROAD Career Seminar - In Spring Semester, BUS 102 Career Decision-making for Prospective Business Majors will be required for students participating in the BROAD Freshman Program. This 14-week seminar is designed to assist students interested in a career in business in determining which field is best for them. This seminar will introduce students to resources at MSU and within the College of Business and present information on business majors and careers. It will provide students opportunities to meet professionals in the field and create moments to interact with their peers.
Tutorial Services – Free tutorial services are available in 10 core business courses through the Broad School's Multicultural Business Tutorial Program.
Professional Development Series – Presentations by business leaders, Broad School student leaders and Broad School alumni.
Special Events – Special programming initiatives that include a Fall Welcome, special dinners, movie nights, group lunches and company site visits.
