CFO Peterson recruits Weekend MBA students
Even after 17 months of intensive commitment to earning her Weekend MBA degree, Cathryn (Katie) Peterson (MBA '03), chief financial officer of Michigan Professional Insurance Exchange, is still very pleased with her decision to pursue the degree at the Broad School. So pleased, in fact, that on a bitterly cold night in November, the busy executive found time to speak at an information session held in Grand Rapids, Mich., for prospective students who were interested in joining the next cohort of the Weekend MBA program.
"I talk to prospective students because I believe it is important for them to hear what real people have to say about the experience," she explains. "As a female, I also want to be a presence for the program. We need to especially encourage women to participate in the program, both to make the potential class environment richer and more diverse, and to help more high-potential women earn one of the top MBAs in the country."
